Towards the end of the Ching Dynasty, China was in the middle of a revolution. A plantation owner, YU-HIN, have only one teenage daughter, YIK-CHEE. YU-KAI accidently killed a dog belonging to the Empress and took his mistress back to Shanghai. With nothing to live on, they started a whore house, and SUI-LIN-LON as the Madam. YIK-HUN it too attracted by the new things in his sister's home, and the life of the city, he soon forgets his studies. CHUN-YUK escape City Shanghai and lived on her stolen goods. Soon she became brook and worked hard. She got into trouble, and with evidence in SUI LIN-?LON's possession, she was sold to her. SUI LIN-LON started to work her way amongst the rich.

YIK-HUN finally got to school, and there he met HAWK-SUN again, and took him home to his sister. She felt that she owned him his love, and asked her husband to employ him as private interpreter; Through HAW-SUN, YIK-CHEE met CHIN HQ-FU and was attracted by him. CHUN-YUK knocked down a hawker's supply and was asked to pay with the gold pendant she has got on. YIK-HUN came and found out that piece belongs to him and demanded for it. She screamed and scared him off. MOU-KUEN met CHUN-YUK in the whore house and wanted her. YIK-HUN met CHUN-YUK again and got his gold piece back.
