The Ashton family are looking for a fresh start in Australia after a difficult few years. They have one week to test the lifestyle in Adelaide before choosing whether to emigrate or not. But they soon discover the decision isn't as easy as they might have thought.

Chris Guy and his wife Judith have been dreaming of a better future for their family in Australia. However when they try out the lifestyle in Perth for a week, they discover this huge decision is far from easy. Daughter Lucy hates the idea from the start, but when the family dig deeper into work opportunities and property prices, they realise their dream may simply be beyond their grasp.

But when they spend a week sampling the lifestyle on offer in Adelaide, the reality of what they are contemplating hits them all.
