Twelve talented and determined young cooks nervously begin their adventure; in order to gain a significant advantage, they must cook their favorite dish for mentor-judges Martin Picard and Stefano Faita; they’re ready to give it their all.

Stefano reveals his favorite dish to the contestants and offers them a surprise; they must rely on their senses to identify as many toppings as possible on a slice of pizza; those who guess the fewest will have to cook a pizza.

The contestants must follow Martin Picard in the execution of his favorite childhood dish: a Moroccan tagine; to avoid going home and prove they deserve their place, they must be able to keep up with the chef’s pace.

The contestants are in for quite a surprise when they lift the first mystery box of the season; they discover a mountain of potatoes inside; they must use this humble vegetable to create a gourmet dish.

The contestants are visited by familiar-faced vendors during a challenge; two beloved former contestants return to the MasterChef kitchen, giving participants the opportunity to showcase eggs.
