Part I

In 1983, Nina Eberlin (Kyra Sedgwick) seeks refuge with her Mother Lainey, after the collapse of her marriage. Her one-week stay stretches into a three-month escape. In order to move forward with her life, Nina realizes she must confront her past and hopes to find the source of her issues while searching through the family photographs.

The Eberlin Family's life is forever altered by the extraordinary requirements of the third-born son Randall, who is autistic and whose life is based upon routine.
